The Shacke Pak is four zippered nylon cubes in graduated sizes plus a drawstring laundry bag. You give each type of clothing its own cube, then you lift out the one you need instead of digging through the case. Shacke sizes the set for trips of up to about two weeks.

We haven’t travelled with this one ourselves, so what follows is the spec and what owners keep saying about it.

Four cubes, one laundry bag, sized for two weeks

The extra large cube is 17.5 by 12.75 inches, the large is 13.75 by 12.75, the medium 13.75 by 9.75, and the small 11 by 6.75. All four are 4 inches deep. The laundry bag is 20.5 by 15.75 inches, and it closes with a drawstring and clip. The cubes are nylon with a water-resistant coating, a mesh top panel with double stitching where it meets the body, and zipper pulls Shacke describes as snag free. The set comes in a long list of colours. If four cubes isn’t enough, there’s also an eight-piece version of the same set.

Three hotels in one week

Cubes make the most difference the second time you change rooms. Shirts stay in the large cube, underwear and swimwear in the medium, chargers and toiletries in the small, so the cubes go from case to drawer and back without repacking anything. Worn clothes go straight into the laundry bag. As a result, on the last morning everything dirty is already in one place, and the clean cubes zip shut in a minute.

What keeps coming up

Owners describe the same routine: one cube per category, living out of the case on multi-stop trips, and families buying a different colour for each person so nobody’s cube gets mixed up. Owners also name the laundry bag on its own more often than any single cube. The range of sizes is the other repeated positive, though a few people say they never find a use for the extra large one, because it crowds a small carry-on.

The complaint worth knowing about is a design change. Through 2023, several buyers said their cubes arrived with an all-mesh top instead of the fabric top with mesh windows in the photos, and some sent them back over it. Beyond that, the critical reviews are scattered single failures, for example a seam or a zipper giving out on a first trip. Still, they’re rare against the volume of five-star reviews.
