Who We Are

We’re Clare and Mark, a mother and son who got tired of beach holidays that looked perfect online and felt wrong in person. Pack With Purpose is the two of us telling you the truth about all-inclusive resorts in the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Not one voice pretending to know everything. Some of these resorts we’ve stayed at. Most we’ve researched closely. Every guide tells you which.

We write for travellers who want to come home rejuvenated, not just photographed. If you care more about how a place makes you feel than how many activities it crams into a day, you’re in the right spot. We exist to help people become rejuvenated.

Our Story

It started with a suitcase and a need to explore. Travel has always been our passion, and over the years we’ve learned what makes a trip restful and what quietly ruins it. The crowded resort that looked calm in the brochure. The swim-up suite three blocks from the water. The beach that’s gorgeous at sunrise and packed by ten.

We’ve made those mistakes so you don’t have to. Now we point you toward the places that get it right, and we’re honest about the ones that don’t.

Purpose

Have you ever thrown things into a suitcase, dragged it halfway around the world, and realized half of what you packed never came out? Come home with more than you left with, not from shopping but because you forgot the adaptor, the sunscreen, the swimsuit?

The key to packing, and to travelling, is doing it with intention. We’ve learned what works and what doesn’t, and we want to save you the trial and error. Pack with a purpose and the trip takes care of itself.

Hi, I’m Mark. I’m so glad you’re here. I love seeing a new place and figuring out what actually makes it work, from the resort that quietly does everything right to the small details most people miss until they’re standing there. My background is in loss prevention, which is a long way of saying I notice things, and I bring that same eye to every resort we recommend.

I handle the practical side, the resorts, the partners, the how and the where, so your trip runs smoothly from the moment you book. No pressure, no hard sell. Just honest help getting you somewhere worth going.

Hi, I’m Clare. Born and raised in a small town in the UK, I always felt there was a big world out there waiting to be explored. I emigrated to Canada in my 20s as an entrepreneur and a mother. Travel is my passion, and to be precise, it’s my love of water that pulls me away from city life. Give me a quiet beach and the sound of the sea over anything a city can offer.

I cover the beaches, the atmosphere, and the feel of a place. Where we’ve stayed, that comes from my own time there. Where we haven’t, it comes from what real guests say, not the brochure. Let me guide you to the right destinations and help you pack with a purpose.

How We Put a Guide Together

Most of our guides are researched. We go through the resort’s own information, what it costs on Expedia, and what recent guests say, the good and the bad. Then we score it on the same stars as every other resort we cover.

When we’ve stayed somewhere ourselves, the guide says We Stayed Here and it’s written from our trip.
